The VP-1000c combines the flexibility of the VP-3000 with the drive mechanism of the VP-1000 to provide a sensor, which will satisfy many demanding process applications at a lower price point.
The ViscoTron VP-1000c is available in versions to measure low, medium and high viscosities. Sensors can be constructed for process pressures up to 50 bar / 720 psi and process temperatures up to 175ºC. A PT100 inside the sensor bulb measures the temperature of the process.
Calibration with Newtonian ASTM traceable fluids over 2 decades is standard with 3 decades options.
The viscometer measures the drag of a fluid at the surface of the torsionally resonating sensor. The twisting motion operates at a constant amplitude and creates the shear wave. Speed, direction and turbulence of the flow have no influence on the measurement. The resonant frequency is dependent on the mechanical construction of the sensor. The microscopic motion is fact enough not to be influenced by outside mechanical vibrations, yet low enough to provide good sensitivity and resolution even for Non-Newtonian fluids. The sensor is gravity independent and can be mounted in any direction.
All sensors are compatible with the traditional VS-4450 transmitter and the direct digital drive VT-G144 transmitter.
